M7 Office development nearing completion
The new £85 million commercial office development is nearing completion at Stratford. The M7 Office A building sits adjacent and partially above the existing M7 retail building which will stand within a new urban quarter at Westfield Stratford City.
MPN were commissioned to provide the concept and scheme structural design for the new M7 Office A building, working alongside architects Simpson Haugh. We were also commissioned to assess, design and procure the strengthening and enabling works required to the existing M7 retail building to facilitate the increase in loading from the nine office floor levels. These strengthening works had to be completed within or in close proximity to live tenancies and the operational basement car park, creating restrictions in possible design solutions. This necessitated a close working relationship with the Contractor’s team to resolve the numerous challenges that arose in executing the site works.
Now nearing completion, we are excited to see the inclusion of the M7 Office Development within the new urban fabric of Stratford. Congratulations to everyone involved.
